Hello Church Family,
I wanted to take a moment during this special time of the year to say thank you.
Thank you for your support, thank you for being open-minded, thank you for being willing to change, thank you for being so kind to Jenn and Jalyn. I can go on and on, but know that it's been such an honor to lead you these past few months.
Christmas time has always been a time for me to reflect on things. The past year, next year, where I am with my walk with Christ, and what I can do better. How can I make more of a difference in this world? Like our theme for this year's Advent to reflect on my journey.
Our walk with Christ never ends; it's a continual journey. For Christians, there are certain times of the year that we are called to reflect and ask ourselves, are we there yet? Not a specific point in our lives, but are we where we want to be as Christians, Christ's disciples.
I know first hand what it's like to almost lose the church you worship in, it makes you want to fight for your church home, it makes you re-evaluate why you are going to church, what you're doing right, what you're doing wrong. It also makes you face the fact that change must happen, most change is good, and change is also inevitable. Again, it's an ongoing journey.
Here's the awesome part! Since September 1, when I first came to 4 Seasons, I have felt a renewal of faith, a new life. We've accomplished so many things since September; you should be proud, and I'm proud of you!
This is my first Advent as a Pastor, and our first Advent together. As you reflect on the miracle of Jesus being born, know that we are on this journey together. If we keep God at the center of all we do, he'll act as our compass leading us along the journey.
I'm so blessed that my journey led me to 4 Seasons, and I can't wait to see what the next year brings.
