I've always found God's Grace to be interesting, no need to earn it God just gives it to you. You might not deserve it but that's the amazing part He still gives it to you.
I've been doing a lot of studying about Grace and John Wesley believed there were three types of grace.
Prevenient grace is grace given before we ever accept Christ. It is showered by God upon all people whether they are aware of it or not. It can be called “preparatory” or “assisting” grace. This aspect of grace leads people to repentance of sin and realization of the need of God.
Justifying grace through faith in Christ is a gift. It does not come because one has earned it through good works. Accepting this grace leads to new birth of the Holy Spirit which is the first work of sanctifying grace unto a life of good works.
Sanctifying grace begins with new birth which is a change in our will and affections. Sanctification is learning to love God with all our being and our neighbor as our self. Sanctification has a change the world as well as a change the person aspect. The pursuit of holiness is on the social level as well as the personal level.
I love this...one of the reasons I love being a Methodist. God's Grace is for ALL!
