Happy New Year

12/31/2020

I would like to wish everyone a happy and a healthy New Year!
Last year was a year like no other, but instead of looking at the downside of 2020.  Try to look back at 2020 with a different mindset.  What are some blessings that you can recall in 2020?
Here are a few of mine:
-Our son, Connor, and his wife, Kim, were married in October.  We are so blessed to welcome Kim into our family!
-I started my appointment at Church of Four Seasons on May 1st!  So very blessed to be a part of this church family!
-My husband and I celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary!
-Our daughter, Melanie, lettered in Color Guard!  She also got her driver's permit and she got her Lifeguard
   certification!
-My husband's blood pressure is under control!
These are just a few of the blessings we received this past year and I am so very thankful to God for these blessings.
As we move into 2021, may you feel God's presence in your life; may you grow in your faith; may you recognize each blessing as they come about; and may we move forward, together, as the Body of Christ.
If you are new to Church of Four Seasons, or if you have been here most of your life, my door is always open.  Please don't hesitate to reach out to me.  We may all be in this together, but we each have our own individual struggles.  I am here for you.
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"
I can't wait to see what blessings God has in store for us in the coming year!
God bless you as we go forward!  To God be the glory!
Pastor Cathy Allison

Longest Night Service 12.17.20 @ 6:30p.m.

Are you feeling overwhelmed?
Are you in mourning, grieving the loss of a loved one?
Are sadness and depression a part of your days?
You are not alone.  I invite you to take time to take care of yourself.  You owe it to yourself to take a break from the hustle and bustle of this season.  We aren't able to help others if we don't take care of ourselves.  There is no better way to take care of yourself then to take a time out with God.
The Longest Night Service is a great way to be with God.  Let this be a gift to you.  This will be a time of quiet, a time of reflection, and a time to be still in God's Presence.  This worship service is filled with music, Scripture, personal reflection, and prayer.  Nothing is expected of you.  Take this time for yourself.  Give yourself permission to let go and let God take care of you.
I admit, this year's service will be a little different, since we won't be able to meet in person, but it will still be meaningful.  I invite you to join us online, on Facebook Live on Thursday, December 17th at 6:30p.m. or watch it later on this website, at your convenience.
Blessings,
Pastor Cathy

There is so much uncertainty going on in the world right now.  It's difficult to know where to turn.  Here at Church of Four Seasons, we are dedicated to helping those in our community.  We would like to offer you a hot meal(s).
We are providing a Drive-Thru Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday, November 24th.  These are hot, individual thanksgiving meals with dessert.  If you would like to reserve a meal(s) for that day, please contact us through cofsmeals@gmail.com or call 219-921-3205.  Please reserve your meal(s) by this Friday, November 20th.  Once you contact us, you will be given a confirmation number.  Bring this number with you when you pick up your food between 4:30p.m. and 6:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 24th.  No questions asked.  We are here to help!
We are planning on offering other hot meals in the near future.  Please stay in touch with us for further information!  No one should go hungry!
Blessings,
Pastor Cathy

Take Time to Laugh

6/15/2020

We all need to take a little time to laugh; take time to be lighthearted and not take life so seriously.  Life is too short to let wonderful moments pass us by.  I shared a poem in my message this past Sunday called "Take Time to be Funny" (Author Unknown).  This is good advice and I pray that you take time this week to laugh and enjoy life.  Don't let it pass you by.
Take Time to be Funny (Author Unknown)

Take time to be funny, rejoice in the Lord
Let laughter explode and have fun with God's Word
For laughter is healing, gives strength to the weak
God loves to see smiles, for they lift up the meek
Take time to be silly, it's good for the soul
Too many are somber, grabbing control
Let go and let God's love wash over your soul
Heavenly transcendence can be your life's goal
For humor is holy, it sanctifies life,
Replenishes hope and oft softens advice
It undercuts sorrow, deflates haughty pride
So smile and hang on, and rejoice in life's ride.

Men's Group:
I have heard from several different people that there is an interest in starting a new Men's Group.  If you are interested in being a part of this new group, please send me your name, email address, and phone number.  Please email me at cr8allison@frontier.com or text/call: 219-921-3205 with your information.  We will plan a Zoom Meeting to get this group together.

Cottage Meetings: Getting to Know You!
Since we are not able to get together in person, I am setting a few dates for Zoom Cottage Meetings.  I will add more meetings as needed.  Let me know which date and time works for you.  Each meeting will have no more than eight people.  This way, everyone will have a chance to talk.  I will send you the agenda as the meeting gets closer.
Please contact me through email: cr8allison@frontier.com or text/call me: 219-921-3205.  Please provide your name, email address, phone number, and the date & time that works for you.

Sunday Worship

5/8/2020

Dear Church of Four Seasons Family,
We will continue to worship online at 10a.m. on Sunday mornings through June 14th per Bishop Trimble.  We want everyone to stay safe.  You are our main concern.   So, relax and join us in your jammies from the comfort of your own home as we worship our Lord and Savior together.
We will send out more information in the coming week regarding a plan on moving forward.  We have a committee who will be meeting this week (on zoom).   In the meantime, if you have any questions, concerns, or thoughts, please feel free to contact me.
Blessings,
Pastor Cathy

GOD Sightings

4/28/2020

Where did you see GOD today? Where have you seen GOD in the past?
Have you seen GOD in nature; through the interaction of other people; through your interaction with someone else; through a smile; a wave of the hand; through an act of kindness?
During these uncertain times, we need GOD now more than ever. I would like for you to send me any GOD Sightings/Blessings/Act of Kindness that you have witnessed or have been a part of in your life, especially during this time of social-distancing.
This will be an ongoing ministry. Let’s intentionally look for GOD all around us. When we do this, we grow in our faith, we are able to plant seeds of faith in others, and we experience HOPE instead of dread, fear, and anxiety.
I will share these each week during worship, we can display them on our website, our Facebook page, and I will have them displayed at church for all to see.
Where have you seen GOD today?
Blessings,
Pastor Cathy
